Several reviewers complained that the product cannot fit 12AWG speaker wire. Using the PrimeCables12AWG OFC wire (Model No. Cab-2789), and applying a thin layer of Vaseline to the sleeve before insertion makes perfect assembly. See picture, and wire gauge number is visible on enlarged photo.

This item has a very high value to price. I use these plugs in my amateur audiophile setup. You don't need to spend thousands to get good quality sound from your home theatre. They allow you to make custom length cables for your setup. I use these connectors with Prime cables oxygen free copper speaker wire and they are very easy to assemble. There are some downsides. The biggest being the caps are very difficult to tighten with the wire installed, I find the cables will pull out easily if not installed perfectly. Also if you plan on plugging in multiple plugs for bi wiring these will make it less than ideal as there will be no way to plug another banana plug into these. That won't be a problem for most people. In closing there is no better value out there for the money. Prime cables should always be the first place Canadians should check for their home cable needs. Looks good and those make a good connection. I had no issues to speak about. Sure there are more expensive options out there but I think those will do the job just fine.
