Although the material that contacts the floor is soft plastic and not some grippy rubber, they still have enough grip with my carpet such that I can feel resistance if the wheels are pointed left/right and I try to move the chair forward. Also, because of the material, the wheels track a surprising amount of dust. Other than that, I think they're great. They are certainly much better than the small casters typically found on cheap office chairs.

These are great replacement casters! They fit right into my office chair that had a damaged caster. They were on a great sale so I didn't think twice about ordering the 5 pack. Now I have spares in case the other original chair casters also fail. Unsure yet about their durability and longevity but so far I really like them.
