Drum has failed in just under 1 year. No glue or pieces found on toner drum, alcohol swabbing did not improve print blobs on drum. Never had drum fail before. Not sure how long drum should last. Have placed orders for 4 toner cartridges since this drum was installed. Disappointed in performance.

I am not certain what the problem was, but the Moustache brand drum unit didn't solve it. This surprised me, because the same brand of toner replacement has been my go-to product for years. Anyway, I ordered a "Genuine Brother" replacement drum unit and most the problem was resolved, even with Moustache brand toner. Oh well, these things happen, fortunately only every few years in my life (I'm retired). I'll keep the Moustache drum unit in storage.

I've used Moustache toner cartridges in my printer with good success, so thought I would try the drum unit, based on other favourable reviews. It's one-third the price of the OEM drum and it makes no sense to me to pay more for a drum than I did for the printer in the first place. Unfortunately, in this case you get what you pay for. The Moustache drum unit looks much flimsier than the OEM unit, and print quality is now worse with some toner speckles on the edges. Good enough for in-office use, but in no way can the printouts now be sent to clients.
