Desk Mounted Professional Microphone Boom Arm Stand Spring-Assisted-PrimeCables®
Solid microphone arm with great design that feels sturdy and solid especially considering the sale price. The arm itself is very stiff and will most likely require a bit of loosening on first use. The default position of the arm is fully extended and adjusting it into position puts tension in the arm. Without attaching your microphone first, it will require a significant amount of force to adjust the arm and I would suggest to attach the microphone first and then place it into the clamp and adjust as necessary to make installation easier. This is as designed since the arm needs a counterbalance which is the microphone itself to balance with the internal mechanisms of the arm and is what allows for heavier microphones to be supported. One drawback with the design of the microphone arm is that if your microphone does not weigh a certain minimum amount like mine (about 0.5 lbs), you might experience the arm slowly trying to return back to the default fully extended position when in a specific orientation. Not a deal breaker or anything just something to be aware about and can be easily fixed by either adding weight via accessories such as a shock mount or by adjusting the arm orientation to shift weight towards the microphone end. Adjusting the tension in the arm at the pivot joints and with the screw at the bottom of the arm may also help but it did not with my microphone. The arm kept on trying to fully extend and hit me in the face multiple times when testing different positions so just be mindful if you have a microphone with similar weight as mine when setting it up. Overall, a great purchase during the sale pricing and would recommend adding weights or adjusting the arm orientation if your microphone weighs similar to mine at 0.5 lbs.
The clamp mechanism doesn't match what's shown on the website, but it's functional. The materials are decent, it's well made and it seems sturdy enough. I'm using it to mount a HyperX Quadcast microphone and it's working well. There's a small screw in the base that you adjust the tension with and each elbow joint screw tightens for adjustability too.
Works perfectly with my Blue Yeti Microphone. Great suspension and cable management.
