I haven't had a decent ruler in a very long time. This one includes regions with demarcations for 10ths and 20ths of inches as well as half millimetres , which is nice. This is solid stainless steel, and just thick enough to be sturdy with a bit of flex, so it will work great for paper and woodworking applications. There is a hole on the end for easy hanging on a peg board or nail, and the (albeit flimsy) plastic sheath has a matching hole, so you can protect the finish when not in use. Very affordable, and worth the price.

This just reminds me that for school supplies, Shopper+ is a pretty good destination to buy the basics vs paying a premium. As a teacher, I'm keenly aware of costs of items and this is a cheap, good quality metal ruler. Don't buy it for very small kids as they may hurt themselves. Besides that, it's a bargain and useful in the house.
