Once the rubber smell dissipated (about 3 days) and the curl came out of the edges, it was much better. However, I have it on hardwood, and the mat moves a lot. It is very lightweight, so even movement of your feet will move the mat. That said, chair moves easily on top of the mat.

As the ruler is attached at either end, you are limited to the number of papers you can slide under. This almost ensures that you don't have too many pagers for the cutter to handle. That said, about 5 pieces at a time is it's limit.
