Needed a longer cable than the one I had and this saved the added expense of buying an extra long cable and also having a short cable around with no use for.

Worked great, had two 12 foot heavy cables to join that needed a 90 degree bend and didn't have the room for the arc that would be created with bending the cable.

The cable going to my television is very thick and heavy, adding the 90 degree adapter removed the stress on the HDMI connection on the television and also the strain on the cable connector.
