Bought this product thinking it would be useful as a break-out cable for my Oculus Rift. Geez was I wrong! Upon addressing the popping sounds I was hearing in game, I juggled the USB ports to no avail to the point where my whole mobo back panel was practically empty. It took me quite a few hours to boil it down to the extension cable being the issue, and find the setup with the least crackling interference. After bypassing the Monoprice USB 3.0 extension cable with my Rift whilst still using the break-out cable for my hdmi, it worked solid and sounded great. Wish I had tried this before ordering a second one... After installing a Startech Pci-Ex4 card I had bought previously (with 4 ports and dedicated controllers for each port), the popping/crackling sound is still evident... No matter what I have done the popping/crackling sounds prevail. Initially I had thought it was the HDMI repeater I had also bought, and made the mistake of buying 2 of these cables. The second sensor which I am using one of these cables with for a 360 setup intermittently has tracking issues. Should have bought a powered USB 3.0 hub or cable instead. If your VR headset channels sound over USB I wouldn't recommend this cable. Get one with an external AC adapter or a powered USB hub. The sensors demand a very high bandwidth already and the cable just adds too much draw on each USB controller. For general applications I'm sure this cable would work fine. KM
