It's not exactly "whisper quiet", but can be running in the bedroom without affecting sleep. It's a nice hum. One small bug (not sure if it's just this model or all diffusers, this is the first one I've touched) is that when taking the lid off (to pour more water or to add oil) some drops are falling from the lid to the furniture - there doesn't seem to be any way to prevent that.

I am using the right angle adapter behind the Xbox (which stands upright). It allows me to keep the Xbox closer to the wall (it's on my desk, behind the monitor), which is exactly what I wanted to do. Fit for purpose :)
