It works if your desk is not sit stand, it's not sticky enough, keeps falling off if the cables move at all. The metal part did not originally come with the magnets attached. You'll have to stick on the magnet yourself - Simple enough. But the sticky side is not strong enough. If the cords moved in anyway or applied even the slightest amount of pressure or force or movement, the metal piece would separate and fall off the magnet.

It's not very sturdy. They didn't drill thoroughly one of the centre poles, making it really hard to put together. It's not meant to have anything heavy at the top (like cupcakes on the bottom and a 6" cake at the top). It's also slanted/tilted because of the way they drilled the holes in the poles, they're not centered and it's slanted.
