When I first installed this adapter, things didn't exactly go to plan. The monitor kept flickering and I had some rather annoying green vertical lines. My first thought was that I had received a faulty unit. Playing with the frequency of my monitor helped for a short time but ever time I restarted the computer I would be back to square one. I was getting ready to request a replacement when I decided to google the problem. As it turns out, active adapters struggle with long distances. I had installed the adapter on a 10ft PrimeCables DVI cable simply because it was the easiest one to find. After reading a post from another company about how their adapters were best used with a maximum of a 6ft cable, I make the switch. Problem solved. It should also be noted that these adapters are capable of more than 60Hz if the screen resolution is lower than 4K though the max I managed on mine 1080P was 67Hz. TLDR; Good product, use a DVI that is max 6ft.

The product is great. It does the job just fine. One detail I wish they had included in the description is that the thread is a 3/8" and that it includes a 5/8" adapter which is the threading found of blue yeti microphones. I'm considering buying the metal monoprice adapter available here since the included adapter is plastic and while it seems sturdy I would prefer a metal adapter for such a heavy mic.
