In case it is not clear one socket always provides power the other can only be switched by software. There is something that looks like a button, but it cannot be pressed. I don't know why primecables choose to display these upside down. There is even a top labelled on the outlet, if confused. Installed the right way, the top has power the bottom switched...
The downside to this switch is if you say want to hook up your entertainment unit to it, If your automation fails while you are away, your spouse will be cursing you because there is no manual way to trim it on. I have also found it will sometimes turn itself off. So keep that in mind before connecting your gas heater to this.
I purchased three, but do far I am not using the one I installed. My intent was to connect my entertainment center... But I decided not to risk my wife's wrath. So I will probably connect the electric fireplace instead.
This is a ZigBee device. So you can connect it to SmartThings in the app as a GE ZigBee switch. But then SmartThings will just mark it as a thing and you'll need to edit the device in the SmartThings IDE.
It can take a week or two for your mesh to stabilise. Do do not plan on showing it off the first day. You maybe badly disappointed.
I have no idea how this differs from the more expensive outlets also listed. Chances are they don't.

You need extreme patience. This will connect to SmartThings. But you will need to change the device type in the SmartThings IDE after you detect it in the app. It is best if you can add the devices without moving your hub. But ZigBee mesh takes a very very long time to stabilise.
I installed three of these switches and one smart outlet. That makes a chain of devices each about 15 meters apart, except the 30 foot gap where I put the hub in the middle.
Either the switch on one end of my home or the other would not stay connected. After a couple of days I even left a bad review because of it. But now a week later and I find all the devices are staying online reliably. It took awhile, but the ZigBee devices have now seemed to have chosen reliable routing.
These are very large switches. So if you don't have extra deep boxes these will be extremely difficult to fit in the outlet box. I have a dual outlet box were I would really like to install two of these, but I only squeezed in one by moving all the connectors behind the ordinary switch.

I am fairly convinced these do not work as mesh routers. Having a chain of these devices will not allow you to have a reliable connection any further from your hub. There are no tools to inspect the ZigBee network. So you either rely on faith it is working, or you observe it does not.

If you can get this at this price buy it. Only be aware the range of ZigBee devices is quite limited and you want to use a SmartThings hub. Install, wait at least 20 minutes and then attempt to pair as a GE ZigBee Switch. Once paired login to the SmartThings IDE and change the device type to a generic ZigBee Switch.
The range of ZigBee devices is about 10 meters with a clear line of sight. Currently I have three devices with the hub between two. The furthest device is not losses connectivity regularly which I take as meaning the switches are slightly too far apart. They are closer than 10 meters but the signal needs to pass though the back side of metal outlet boxes and through walls.
Battery operated sensors will not act as part of the mesh network. So I will install a couple of wall switches to bridge the gap.
The biggest advantage of these switches is you don't need to your the house to change wifi passwords, and the range of the switches is too little to hack the switches from outside your home. If they do hack a switch that does not give a backdoor into your network.
The biggest downside besides range is size. I could never fit two of these in the same box when that box also acts as a junction box. Other smart switches are large, but this is the largest I have squeezed into a box.

If you are looking for a basic VR set this is a great set to try. The manual is pretty useless. Just search for VR applications and try it. There are QR codes for some Chinese apps, but it won't actually open on my iphone. I just get a message that the application developer is untrusted. But for I know I could be downloading the wrong version, as I said it is all Chinese, I just picked the highest version number to try.
There are no buttons on this headset, so you cannot use anything that requires clicking... That is fairly typical for the price range. If find the comfort level is moderate. About 30 minutes and I can't wear it anymore. Oil collects from my noise and forehead and ends up on the lenses, so after 30 minutes I can't see clearly anyway.
As I said, it is a great intro headset...

For the price, this seems pretty good. At first all the images were very very blurry. Then I noticed there was plastic film on all the glass. After that given the proper focus it is crystal clear. The nose bridge is very very uncomfortable. But there are foam pad included to help with that. Only there are no instructions, where or how to apply the foam pads. I took my best guess and now at least I can wear this more than ten minutes without it hurting my face, but still not great.
The lack of a button is a show stopper for some VR apps. In others it is just an inconvenience. My wife loves seeing 3-D movies in these. I am blind in one eye, so I can't really appreciate the 3-D aspect, but the 360 videos are stunning. I'm ordering two more.

Works well. There was a mistake in the package, so I received two yellow toners and no red toners. But that was quickly resolved with free shipping on the exchange.
