This adapter works very well, with a firm connection to my TV HDMI socket and to the (now) vertically hanging cable. The cable does not disconnect.

My computer system supports to identical Dell monitors, with the graphics card providing DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort connections. Text on the monitor using the HDMI connection was significantly fuzzier than its twin using a DVI cable. This cable allowed the removal of the HDMI cable and connection of the monitor's DVI socket to the graphics card DisplayPort. The two monitors are now equally crisp -- the cable works very well.
