Generally speaking, the mount is decent for the price. However note that it will not fit some TVs such as TCL R646 out of the box. I contacted support and they were no help. This is because the back of this TV is not flat and has a section that protrudes out and the VESA brackets for this mount extends down beyond the specs (300 x 300 VESA in this case) and cannot extend beyond the protruding section of the TV. So the solution is either saw off the extra section of the mounting brackets where the bar to mount the ugly pull down handles or use spacers and lift the entire bracket higher than the protruding section of the TV. I chose to do the latter option. For TCL R646, you will need to buy M6-1.0 50mm hex cap screw and use 1 small plus 1 large spacer that came with the TV mount for each hole. I also bought washers to support the spacers on the TV. I don't know the strength of normal machine screws so I bought some heavy duty 8.8 grade screw from home depot that hopefully will support the extra bolt length from 20mm to now 50mm. The instructions were also not great. The wall anchors were horrendous and I had to buy my own. After installing the TV mount I found that there is no locking mechanism for tilt and pan so every time I pull the TV down from fireplace, the TV shifts a bit which is super annoying.
