It works alright for splitting, but note that any other connected device (not active) will introduce a bit of noise into the signal. This may or may not be an issue, depending on the levels you're working with.

The included ring light does very little to illuminate, so you're better off getting a separate lighting solution. The camera itself though, is very good. The high resolution, tripod-mountable frame, and USB-C connection are all great features at this price point that compete well with other name brand cameras.
