I have found this printer to be EXACTLY what I am looking for. Some notes: I was looking for a decently reviewed, hardwired-enabled laser printer (and thus not entirely dependent on a sometimes unreliable wifi connection) with an excellent price. I purchased mine at $170 (it is currently listed for less) and am very pleased with it so far - I've had it since the end of December 2022 (it is now 1 week into May 2023). It was literally "plug-and-play" for immediate one-sided printing. It has an excellent print quality and speed and I LOVE the automatic duplex printing capability. I also appreciate the ability to purchase a high-yield toner to save on money. While I would have loved the additional options of colour laser, multi-function, and wifi enabled (in addition to hardwire enabled) printer, I was on a budget and those functions were not absolute musts. I still have an inkjet printer that I can colour print on when necessary even though it's on its last legs (printer sounds terrible as it sets up to print and the scanner quit functioning for me - though I think I can still copy so that's something). As for wifi enabled, it would have been a plus but the hardwire was the absolute must. NOTE: The duplex function was not automatically available upon hooking up this printer... in fact, it was only after reviewing the functions of the printer, today (what can I say, I procrastinate), that I realized that duplex SHOULD be available for my printer and went into "research mode" to figure it out ... until now, I've been marking, flipping and re-inserting the printed pages manually (something I've always had to do with any of my other printers so is something I'm used to and doesn't bother me). I've written up instructions and added them to the very end of this review for those who have Windows operating systems. PROS: - laser (low print cost factor) - monochrome (low machine cost factor) - hardwire enabled (no wifi unreliability) - hardwire cord included (approx 5') - great print quality (up to 2400 x 600 dpi) - great print speed (up to 30ppm) - single-function (fewer parts to quit working) - EXTREMELY simple and easy to connect and start printing immediately - easy and simple to use but not 100% intuitive (see cons below) - somewhat smaller sized (35.6cm x 36.0cm x 18.3cm; 14.01"x14.17'x7.20") - low purchase price (even better as of 9 May 2023 - $20 cheaper) - duplex printing enabled - multi-sized printing capabilities - paper tray = Letter, Legal, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B5, B6; manual feed = Letter, Legal, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B5, B6, Envelopes, Custom Sizes (3.0-8.5" (w), 4.57-14" (l)) - high yield printing toner/ink available (up to 12,000 pages) - good reviews CONS: - monochrome only (typical of the price) - not wifi enabled (hardwired only - comes with cord) - single function only (no scanner/copier/fax available - will have to purchase separate unit) - slightly higher machine price than a basic inkjet printer will run (offset by lower printing costs) - set up of printer (duplex ability) not quite 100% straightforward for me (see below instructions) SET UP DUPLEX for Windows: 1. Click on "Settings" in Windows Menu 2. Click on "Devices" 3. Click on "Printers and Scanners" 4. Click on the correct printer - in this case "Brother HL-L2320D Series" 5. Click on "Manage" 6. Click on "Printer Properties" 7. Click on "Device Settings" 8. Under "Installable Options" (you may have to expand that one by clicking the "+" sign beside the words "Installable Options") - click on Duplex Unit and choose "Installed" under the drop down menu 9. Click "Apply" 10. Click "OK" 11. Open your document and click on "Print" 12. Look for the option to "Print on Both Sides of the Paper" and make sure the box next to it has a checkmark in it - you may have to go into "Setup" once you've pressed "Print" 13. Click "Print" All in all, I would definitely recommend this printer if you are on a budget and have fairly basic printing needs, want something hardwired into your computer (and don't care about wifi), and have no need for colour printing or additional functions (scanning/faxing/etc). While the machine itself will run a higher cost than one of those basic inkjet printers you can buy for $40+ from Walmart, the printing cost (per page) is drastically lower over time. I would also recommend this printer if you have a little extra money and already have a colour inkjet printer (OR any colour printer with a higher cost/page output) - use this one for monochrome printing and save a lot of money NOT going through your colour ink every time you print something that doesn't actually require colour or that you could care less if it prints in colour or not.
