This mount does the job, but with a 50 inch TV it still seems a little bit light duty for it. The rear mount to the wall is very short, so you really have to consider placement on the wall to ensure that you have adequate mounting to a stud. As it will only cover across 2 studs at 16 inch centers and you need a specific location for mounting, it may mean only one stud can be properly accessed to secure the mount.
