I went with this printer first because it was cheap, second I thought it would be easy to use. Boy was I wrong. TL;DR it works nicely eventually, but it still feels like I'm missing part of the quality multi-function experience.
Connecting:
Having interned in IT for the better part of a year, I thought I could handle half-baked printer software. The included software cd is either severely out of date, or incorrect. Download new drivers from their website. To first connect the printer to Wi-Fi you need to plug it in to a computer with USB and go through the setup process which is relatively painless. After that, you can stick it in a corner with just the power plug and it will work wonderfully. You can use it with USB, but it's not as elegant. (Come to think of it that might fix my scan-to-PC issue below. But if they're both within arms reach why not use the better UI that is your computer)
Printer Paper Tray/Out:
Like Brain said, the paper tray sticks out of the front of the printer about 4", and the output tray is a flimsy stick that extends from 4" to 6". I do not feel comfortable walking past the printer because these parts jut out, and I would have much preferred the paper tray to be fully encased. Opening it to refill with paper is not a problem to me; having to remove all the paper, fiddle with sliders that adjust the length of the paper tray, and then close the tray just to move it is much more of a hassle in my opinion.
Scanner:
There is functionality to initiate a scan through the printer's menu. In theory, you can scan to an email address, FTP server, or connected computer. I have tried everything short of buying a professional SMTP server to get it to work, and failed. However, initiating a scan from a computer works just fine. There are options to scan from the glass bed or the feeder, but as I will get to soon, there is not much difference. Maximum resolution is 600 dpi and can do full 8-bit colour.
Bed:
Barely large enough to hold a regular Letter size sheet of paper. Good weight on the lid to press down edges so that the scan looks flat.
Document Feeder:
One would think that since there is no fixed length like there is on the glass bed, that you could scan long documents with this. That would be incorrect since ths scanner will stop working past Legal size (14") cropping the image. Grocery receipts can easily pass that length, so I instead just use the glass bed and take several scans. This is what I meant by there being no difference between the bed and feeder - for long documents that don't fit on the 11" bed, I still end up having to use it anyways. To stitch the multiple scans back together I use a program by Microsoft - ICE Image Composite Editor (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/product/computational-photography-applications/image-composite-editor/). Dropping files into the home screen and then spamming next/auto gives a perfect result.
Copier:
It seems like the default settings reset on their own, but the menus work like you would expect and it is easy to get the desired results from your copies. No complaints!
Printing:
The thing you would expect from a printer. Print quality is great, going up to 1200 x 600 dpi (I think that is more detail vertically, but I'm not completely sure). Printing double-sided on Windows gives an annoying nag popup telling you to hurry up. It does not close on its own when printing is complete, it does not tell the printer to continue when you have flipped the paper back for manual duplex, it does nothing. Even when you print 1 page and forget to uncheck the button the nag window appears. The Android printing app by Pantum is garbage, it crashes 10s after you open it no matter what. Luckily CS here directed my to http://mopria.org/ which suffices. It alters the document before feeding it to the printer slightly, but it's better than nothing. I have not tried printing from iOS.
Conclusion:
Overall I do like this printer/scanner/copier. I wish it had fax, but that's not worth the extra cost for my needs. It was a pain to get working the first time, but after some software updates it became much better - something that should help you buyers that come after me. For the price, it does everything I expected from an cheap off-brand multi-function printer. However next time I plan to go for a slightly larger one that has a properly enclosed paper tray and working first-party software.
