This 9 micron (OS2) fiber optic cable is made with Corning glass fiber and consists of a simplex SC male connector on one end and a simplex ST male connector on the other end. It is a singlemode fiber (9 micron core) designed to transmit data across long distances at high speeds. The cord is simplex (one fiber) which means it is typically used in situations where the signal travels in one direction. The cladding diameter is 125 microns, 9/125 fiber cables provide a low cost option for gigabit ethernet network applications. The SC jumper connector provides a push-pull locking mechanism to ensure connection reliability. Each cable is tested for optical integrity and loss prior to packaging to ensure proper data transmission.
