I did not notice that it does not come with the bluetooth receiver but it is a good thing my laptop has bluetooth. So far I am having trouble connecting it to the laptop but after reading the instructions I think I figured it out. I was successful in connecting it to the phone though. And it comes with a feature that I did not notice, a laser pointer which is handy if you want to play with the cat while watching tv :)

I does just what I hoped for. I have a smartphone with a broken screen which does not respond to touch. I used a USB mouse to get the bluetooth going on the cellphone and now it connects as soon as I turn on the Rii and can control the phone again. Good stopgap method to get the phone working. It controls using the touchscreen or with the navigation buttons. The keyboard rocks a bit on a flat surface because the laser has a bump-out on the bottom but a soft surface settles it down.
