This is a way better system than using traditional training pads (or pee-pads)! Traditional training pads (even when a holder is used) will always end up being shredded and sometimes ingested by your puppy. This 2 way pet mesh option allows you to use no pads at all (which saves you money and keeps your puppy safe), or you can even do what I do and put a pee pad *under* the mesh where your puppy can't chew it and then you don't have "loose" pee underneath the mesh which could spill if not lifted out of your puppy area carefully. You will need a brush or something to clean the mesh pad (I scrub/rinse it of off in the laundry room sink with a brush), and that would be it's one downfall, but it is way better than having your puppy ingest or choke on a training pad (pee pad). This is a brutally honest review from someone who has tried every other training pad option out there (really) and this one is the best!

Our puppy will not use it. Doesnt like the plastic and his paws go through the holes on the top grate.
