+ : The build quality of the micrometer is surprisingly good. The ratchet works well and feels good. - : The case doesn't offer much protection. I would have gladly paid a few dollars extra for an enclosure with glued foam inside of it, or any other solution to protect it during shipping. Making things worse, the micrometer was out the plastic case and free in the cardboard box when I received it. A piece of tape to keep the plastic case closed would have prevented that. It is still a good tool for the price.
