25 Watt Stereo Hybrid Tube Amplifier with multiple Inputs - PrimeCables®-OpenBox
Works as advertised, warm sound with a bit of that pleasant tube hum. Drives my bookshelf speakers effortlessly without stressing them unduly. I'm looking forward to testing with my larger main system, and also want to compare it to my vintage Sansui receiver when playin vinyl. I don't think it can beat the Sansui, but likely close enough that most people wouldn't notice the difference. I purchased this unit to be an easy way to integrate TV and Bluetooth into my living room system, and that functionality is there. Unit is larger than I expected from photos (didn't really check dimensions before buying), so I am not able to place it where planned... But it's attractive enough to have out on display.
I bought one of these almost exactly a year ago. It's a good unit. I suggest using 4 ohm speakers if you want anywhere near 25W x 2. I run it with an Electrohome TT with a $250 cartridge and through a pair of Mission speakers. Great options. Built-in phono preamp, coax., RCA, Optical.
Very good sound through a pair of Paradigm Titans (8 ohm) but you need to push the volume. I tried some Philips (6 ohm) speakers and the volume was much better. Great array of Inputs & Outputs. "Bass" Out is a nice addition; added an 8" powered subwoofer. The sound is slowly getting better & better as the tubes break in.
Product works well, I am not a fan of having to reach behind the unit in order to switch between phono and CD I would have maybe either put that switch out front or on the side of the unit. I would have given this a "5" star rating but and it is a big but the unit is missing a ground tab for the phono, with the trend towards vintage electronics a lot of the old phonos came with an external ground and we'll it is needed otherwise you get a terrible hum. I am going to mod mine so it does have an external ground, other then that it was an awesome deal and looks great when the lights are turned down low.
