The USB C port does not project to another screen. My laptop comes with a USB C port that can connected to another screen to extend it. I was hoping, with limited USB slots on my laptop, that this hub could extend my screen with the USB C and also provide additional normal USB ports. But it doesn't.

It does lock, but you can use some brute force and pull it opened. It's not a lot of force too. The lock just ends up slightly bent, but you can unscrew it and flip it the other way so it locks properly again. I would not recommend putting valuable possessions in it.
