I tried the oem cartridges, usually, if you are not using this for commercial or photo print out purpose, you won't need to buy OEM since it has better quality, but if you are the person who is looking for normal documentation print out, then having this lc61 value pack will definetely save you a lot of money, I am a colleage student and I only print stuffs like reports and documents, so for me the best way is to use the compatible ink cartridges instead of the OEM one, it's not worthy to spend like $30 bucks just for a black color instead of spending $3 bucks ONLY, you save your time from going to the store directly, the store sellers are sometimese very annoying and they just want to push the sale...I prefer the concept of ordering cartridges online !!
