I've ordered this light black ink for an Epson 3880 a few times and for this particular colour the chip is included even in 2024 so you just insert the cartridge and it works. I wish all the other colours for this compatible ink included the chip as you avoid having to cut the OEM chip out of an original cartridge, insert then position the chip adapter ( if the chip adapter doesn't fully make contact on the OEM chip then the printer doesn't accept the cartridge). With this colour it;s really plug and play with great savings over OEM

Works perfectly in my Epson Stylus Pro 3880 and this newer version of the cartridge does not require the old chip from the original Epson ink cartridge unlike earlier versions of this ink. Now you just unpack the cartridge and insert it, replacing the old cartridge - no removal of the original OEM chip or installing a chip adapter. Easy and it’s recognized by the printer as a regular light black cartridge.

I've used this Light Black ink in my Epson 3880 and the results were fine and the printer accepted the cartridge (after I reseated the chip from the original cartridge into this replacement.
