This adapter DID NOT work for me, I connected my surveillance system to my old TV as a monitor (output VGA to S-Video or RCA Video input) chose correct input selection on old TV and neither worked. I then connected adapter to my new TV's input ports and again nothing worked .. to confirm port is active on surveillance box I connected a straight VGA cable to new TV and yes video confirmed and 'adapter is junk'.
