I found the kit to be well packaged and to work very well, however I use the needle to put ink into another intermediary old bottle with a sharpened needle which I first insert into the cartridge to be refilled. In this way, the ink enters the cartridge by gravity and osmosis, rather than by direct pressure. There is no overfilling or mess this way. I use the supplied bottle and needle only as a measuring system. Price is reasonable.
