This product works amazingly! The ac power unit is only needed with units not producing enough power, which my pc, xbox one, and monitor all produce enough alone. The box automatically detects a new input when it turns on, and the remote works great. There are only two things I would say about this unit. 1: The inputs are from behind and the output is on the side, making the output cable look a little sloppy if your going for a streamlined look. You need to provide extra room for a clean bend of your cable to not kink it. Simple fix was an HDMI right angle connector that made it face strait back, available from this website, and my cable management was perfect. 2: The LEDs are really bright. They don't automatically turn off, and the glare is real for me. If your putting this in a dark space or a room to sleep ex. you may need to just put a little tape over to get rid of the brightness. Other than that this unit is a dream and makes my cable management for my full system work fantastically.

simple easy to setup, works perfectly out of the box. Was surprise it does not require an AC adapter for the remote to function like my older unit.
