30Ft Power Cable for Security Camera w/ BNC & Power Connector
Upon first glance, these appear to be well made and good quality. However, once connected to extend video & power to my cameras, I noticed it was causing ghosting on the image output. Since i was using a BNC coupler to join the two video cables, I assumed this was the culprit. So I cut the BNC ends off and soldered the full length wires directly together. This made little to no improvement. I then shortened this cable to only the additional length needed - down from 30' to about 10. This made the ghosting much less noticeable, but still visible. I then separated the video wire from the power wire hoping some distance between them would help, but it did not. When cutting the wires, I noticed the wire shielding around these cables does not completely encompass the inner core. Rather it's wound around in a helix type shape, only covering about 80% of the core. It appears this is what's allowing interference in. Being that many others on here had good results with these wires, i'm guessing there must be some excess interference in my environment, but I dont have a problem with the stock wires that came with this (cheap) SWANN security system...so buyer be warned!
