Have used one of these cables before, found them much better than an RCA cable, due to it being optical.

I purchased two of these cables, and on both the fibre optic plastic extends past the metal conduit on the ends not allowing the plug to actually connect to the optical slot on my devices. From reading the reviews, it seems like this is a common issue. I wouldn't recommend this cable.
