I was looking for a splitter to take on vacations, trips, and outings. I went as far as spending $20 on a two way splitter at The Source in Toronto's international airport because I was that desperate. I obviously came to my senses and returned the crappy splitter upon my return and saw one in stores for $3. It did the job decently but wasn't to my expectations. Now here is this splitter that I did not have high hopes for at all. I should be ashamed, because this has gone WAY past my expectations. I received this item in ONE business day, talk about amazing customer service. It came right in time for a beach BBQ picnic I was hosting. We tested it with two Bose speakers to see how well it worked, and it was insane how clear the sound quality still was. You can connect up to FIVE devices, imagine if you had 5 speakers to test with. The days of huge boom boxes or sharing one set of headphones are long gone. This little device will complete your music sharing tasks efficiently. I also plan on using this on vacations when I watch videos with my girlfriend or friends on the plane. So happy I found this, definitely purchase this if you are looking to accomplish the same goals as I was!

With as many as five connections, my chief concern with this 5-way Splitter was signal loss and/or signal degradation. I tested it by plugging in two sets of headphones, two sets of earbuds, and a portable mp3 speaker. I then plugged in my iPOD. I listened to each device and they all sounded very good, with reasonable volume and good fidelity. This splitter is small - about 2-3/8 inches across with a 4-inch cord. The white and lime-green two-tone design is esthetically pleasing.

a gem - and audio is bidirectional

Using it to attach audio streaming device to analogue stereo systems . works very well allowing for all 3 to be played at once or any of the 3 units to be played individually

It works alright for splitting, but note that any other connected device (not active) will introduce a bit of noise into the signal. This may or may not be an issue, depending on the levels you're working with.
