Functional. I use it for my 30pin dock speaker. The adapter has the audio input connector for my iPhone 5S and the 30pin female connector serve the output for both data and audio. Some adapters in the market have to use a separte audio cable to connnect which annoying me.

Bought this adapter to use it with a speaker that actually use a 30pins connection. Using this adapter, i can skip songs using the speaker remote and adjust the volume but i still can't recharge my ipod. I guess that two out of three ain't bad ! Still happy with my purchase as it still allows me to use my speaker.

Cheap price, excellent value, does what it should and has held up over the past 6 months. I would buy another one if this thing ever does actually break. For the price, you really cannot go wrong!

Can use my old cords. Thus saving me money.
