MY HARDWARE: MacBook Air Mid 2013 Intel I5 chip Model Identifier: MacBookAir6,2 Processor Name: Intel Core i5 Processor Speed: 1.3 GHz Intel HD Graphics 5000: Chipset Model: Intel HD Graphics 5000 Tried on two monitors: SAMSUNG one with VGA input, and LG with HDMI. All that shows up on the monitor is the background screen shot of MAC OS High Sierra mountain image. Nil else. No response from EMAIL querry to Prime Cables. Thought should be good alternate to APPLE PRODUCT. Made not difference with Disconnected and reconnect my adapter from laptop and both monitors. CONCLUSION: This adapter is NOT A FUNCTIONAL NOR a necessary companion for MY 2013 13 inch MacBook air. The fact that the unit sent to me has the same dysfunction whether used with a HDMI cable or a VGA cable suggests that it has major problems at the chip level. Lots of promise. NO CIGAR
