Works, but is not the same communication control with the Mac as the OEM Apple product. The OEM Apple adapter waits for one second before it applies full power, this adapter applies full power immediately which over time could damage the MagSafe pins on the Mac. It's certainly good value for the money - I bought several to have a couple of spares on hand. Best way to use it is to plug in the MagSafe connectore before plugging itne adapter into the 115 volt power outlet

Heats up when charging. You need to keep it cool as I had one over heat and stop working.
