This tape looks & fits like the version I got from P-Touch (my old OEM version was - #M-K231, Thermal, **non-laminated**, 122mm 1/2"), but this compatible version has one very big difference. THIS TAPE HAS A MATTE FINISH!!! no protective layer like the OEM. So 2 points to consider when buying this version: 1. it does not print as glossy....it's sort of dull. AND 2. more importantly, if you use it on items that may get knocked around a bit or get a tiny bit damp - then this version does not have the same protection as the OEM version. Last year I labeled all of my 6yo boys school books, sports equipment, *food containers etc. with my original OEM tape & they still lasted (actually it's been over 1.5yrs) - even with rough guy treatment, BUT this compatible version will not last, there is not protection!! (*yes even my food containers & his water bottle labeled with the OEM tape lasted, I did hand washed them though) So in my opinion, the description for this product should note that it's a MATTE finish, not the same as the OEM version.!
