I've owned 2 of the Canon 600EX-RT. I sold those and bought 2 of the Yongnuo YN600EX-RT. I'm a professional photographer that and run a company doing so, as such, you will get professional use comments from me - not amateur use. This flash is a mediocre flash for budget conscious users. As a professional, I will resell the ones I own and go back to Canon. Here's what you need to know: - Yongnuo version is flimsy and cheaply made....doesn't sit securely in hot shoe, flash rotates too easily and is floppy, hell, the middle button one of mine fell out after 1 week of us. - WARNING: These flashes eat your batteries alive if left in standby mode!!! You will fly through batteries on these units because unless you turn it completely off, it's draining your battery (a well known problem - look it up on google). - Yongnuo version only has a 30 day warranty - yup, 30 days. - Yongnuo version has given me inconsistent flash between 2 units, same settings. Honestly, this product is just a waste of money unless you need a flash and don't want to shell out $600 for the Canon version. For amateur use, this is great and gets the job done. For pro use and for weddings, stick with Canon.

READ THIS REVIEW FOR A PROFESSIONAL'S OPINION ON THIS PRODUCT First off, I'm not an amteur user - I'm an industry professional with 3 DSLRs, 4 flash units, 8-10 lenses, etc. We do events of all types, primarily weddings, engagements, etc. I'm also a previous user of the Canon 600EX-RT which I owned 2 of. I purchased 2 of these YONGNUO 600EX-RT's after I sold my Canon 600EX-RT's. Out of the 2, one of them has stopped working after just 2 photoshoots. I put in batteries (Eneloop PRO which I purchased here), it turns on, then turns off after firing once. It does not turn back on. I put in new batteries, fires once, then never turns on again. The 2nd flash unit is fine and fires and stays on just fine. WORD OF CAUTION: This flash only has a 30 day warranty from this site. They WILL NOT exchange it for you after that, nor help you in any way. Here is a detailed breakdown of this flash: CONS: 1) flimsy - when comparing the canon version to the yongnuo, it is very apparent that yongnuo took shortcuts. The plastic parts feel even more plastic with how loose they are connected together 2) unsecure - when you attach this flash to a mount or hot shoe, moving the lever from left to right should be smooth and lock in place. Many times, on both units I bought, its not as smooth or tight as the canon version 3) overheat - try buying a car and it shuts off everytime you go past 60km/h....that's how it feels with this flash. Overheats after just a few fires, high power or low power. Why on earth do these overheat so easily? what good are they? 4) horrible warranty - after just 2 photoshoots, 1 unit is completely dead as explained above. The warranty is only 30 days so now I am out $200. You have to contact the manufacturer. PROS: 1) Cheaper than Canon - you take your chances, but you can save money. For the price, you can get 2-3 Yongnuo versions, so if 1 breaks, you still have others to use. Unless you're me, and do OCF and have 2 flash units and 1 of them dies. I WISH I STUCK WITH THE CANON VERSION

The flash works as advertised for all its functions Some times it does not fire. Also it is very fragile.
