This device was purchased to switch between a laptop and a desktop connected to a computer monitor with only one HDMI input. The device was simple to install (plug in power adapter and HDMI cables) and works well so far after two weeks of use. The unit was surprisingly smaller than I expected and seems sturdy. While it is active, when a new device gets plugged into an input, it seems to switch to that output right away and you have to re-select the input via the button on the switch.
