Caliper is good for what I need but "Zero" needs to be reset before each use.

At first glance everything seems to work, machining on the slide is rough but I was planning on altering these calipers to use on my lathe as digital readouts. I was worried that they wouldnt magnetized but my rare earth magnets stick very well. Price was right.

The unit I received needed a little lubrication on the depth gauge but came with a battery and was noted to be accurate against another more expensive caliper. No easily accessible serial port for you hackers, but a good enough price to be an easy first or spare.
