I connected the HDMI extender from my security system's DVR to about 20 60 feet of cat5e in the wall to the monitor downstairs. It worked like a charm when paired with other 3 feet long high-speed HDMI cables bought from Prime Cables. It did not work when I paired it with some cheap extra 5 feet long HDMI cable I had left over from an old monitor.

These inexpensive units work very well.

We are using it with our projector and once in a while we go to unplug and plug it back because we have some glitchs. But except that, it works like a charm!
