I REALLY wanted this to be a great microphone.. it's stylish, extremely well manufactured, and the anti-shock mechanism is brilliant. It looks GREAT sitting on the desk... BUT the self-noise (static) from the recording puts it below my webcam microphone for quality, and that's not a high bar to step over! As a movie prop... 5 stars! as a useful microphone.. save your money.
