I opened the box for this little laser measuring tool, added fresh batteries, turned it on, screen showed some activity but showed no measurement, then turned itself off after about 10 seconds. After that, it never responded again. Bought it on clearance so I can't return it. Complete waste of money :(

I found this to be unreliable and gave me false readings, beeping where there was nothing behind the wall. I was hanging some shelves and it was detecting studs where there was nothing there. Same thing when adding a receptacle, ended my cutting a hole a few inches away from the stud. Would pay more for a more reliable unit.

Misleading description, there is no selection of detector modes as in its description as "3 DETECTOR MODES - There are 3 detector modes, wood scan mode, metal scan mode and AC line scan mode, you can choose the one you want"

Not very accurate or reliable. Couldn’t trust it when I needed to find studs to attach TV mount to wall.
