These are just stud finders. They would beep for everything but wouldn’t sound different depending on what behind the wall. So there could be water, electricity or a stud and it would beep. Don’t know how that’s helpful if it doesn’t tell you what it is.

Gives a very wide range making it harder to pinout the stud.

It shows that the stud is much, much wider than it actually is, so it kinda hard to know where the edges are. Maybe I'm not using it correctly, but the manual also doesn't help.
