Lift protective film from embossed digital display, not from outside edge. Works perfectly. At first, I asked, what film? It was hard to remove from the outer edges, but learned the best way to lift the protective film was from the embossed digital display. Put a plate on it before turning it on, and it will read 0 g. That means only the food you add to the plate will be weighed. Love that intuitive feature - no need to do any math.

Pros: Small size, light weight, looks good on top, 2 AAA batteries included. Cons: Bottom of scale made of cheap plastic. Battery compartment door hard to close. Instructions poorly written. Fortunately it's not hard to figure out how to use it by trial and error. The price dropped the day after I ordered it.

Very light. Great that it comes with batteries. Don't forget to remove the plastic film.

I got this for my Dad to weight his daily intake. Work well. I replace his old one as it got use every day and worn out after a year.

Measures accurately and is very manageable size wise so I am pleased with our purchase.
