This is a plug and play item. The drivers downloaded as soon as I plugged it in. It is compatible with our computers running Windows 10 and windows 7. It comes with an owners manual that has no instructions however on how to change any settings. It has an automatic return after scanning, and never having used or set up a barcode scanner, it took me awhile how to figure out from the owners manual how to change it to a tab ( our software- Avimark) treats a return as something other than an enter, so we needed it to tab. Once set up it scans well, can be about 6 inches away and it still works. We are thinking of getting a second one

Great value for the money spent

This code reader seems to work well although it should have included a bracket for mounting.
