I mistakenly sent the speakers to a post office in Ohsweken Ontario which I did not know FedEx will never deliver to. I cannot rate what I habe not received and I do not blame Shopper Plus. Shopper Plus has notified me of store credit or refund thank you.

I was not expecting a whole lot considering the price. But was mildly surprised at the sound. To "break it in" I had connected it as the main speaker.

I can only evaluate this as a connected pair. The setup is "woofie" (on flat settings) with very muddy mid range. At least the treble is not screechy. The effect is that it sounds like the system is installed in a cave. I purchased this for my dorm room and will be looking to upgrade in the very near future. I must admit that I am replacing a decent Class A amplifier known for its linearity and a pair of Yamaha studio monitors of about the same size but costing considerably more. If your ears are used to classical music in a decent hall, you will be greatly disappointed. As for pop/rock, I think most recording artists would suggest their music was not meant to sound this way. My gamer friends plan on getting this outfit but for watching movies, my senior aged friend claims he cannot make out the dialog at all.

Great value Good features Okay sound Some worrying aspects --- This little amp is quite capable and will drive bookshelf speakers well. It's cheap and has a decent finish. BUT Two major drawbacks; 1- weird electrical behavior when plugged in : it seems to lack power safety and when I plugged it in, there was a bolt and a loud pop, so I thought it had shorted. It had not and worked well afeter that, but this doesn't look safe and could potentially damage audio equipement. 2- There is a blank, background noise. It's not too bad, but it's still there and increasing at higher volume. So if you can crank up your source's volume instead of the amp's, it won't be as annoying.
