I bought a few different lengths of the Cat 7 cables, and while the shorter 6 and 10 foot cables performed great (full speed, no interference), the 30 foot cable performed terribly. I'm getting a fraction of the speed I was getting my old cat 6 cable. I was upgrading from an old 25 foot cable, since I couldn't route that length perfectly and I needed a few extra feet to get things just right. I could max out my internet speed on the old cable (about 950 Mbps download), but after switching over to the new 30 ft cable, my speeds completely tanked (about 10 Mbps). Even though I was routing along a similar path as I was with the old cable, I figured interference might've been causing the issue, since I was routing near a speaker wire. So I tried routing away from any possible interference source, and while speeds did improve, the best I could manage was about 95 Mbps. A max speed of 1/10th of my old speed with nearly the same cable length (25 foot vs 30 foot) is completely unacceptable. Especially considering it goes down to 1/100th of my old speed when routing along the baseboard near the speaker wire. My old cat 6 handled interference better by an order of magnitude. I suppose it's possible I got a faulty cable, but I can't be sure. All I know is I'm back to using my old cable now, since the new one is unusable.
