It is okay. Not particularly efficient as it tends to tickle more than it soothes, but with massage oil and enough pressure on it, it helps the person receiving the massage. As for self use, maybe it you put it between the chair and your back you could get some thing out of it . It's not a buy I regret, my partner he not against massage with it, but i feel it's use is limited. At the end of the day, considering the price, it is okay.
