I have a similar Black & Decker electric screwdriver and this PrimeCables one has more torque. I use rechargeable Ni-MH battery to maximize torque (Ni-MH have a higher drain rate than alkalines). AFAIC, the fact that this use AAs is an advantage as you can always change batteries when they die. The ones with an internal battery you have to throw away when the battery dies. The screwdriver doesn't have a lock for manual use but this is not an issue as it seems to lock itself automatically when the motor is not in use. Only negatives: The battery compartment is tight and there's no torx bits. Still for $10 this is great deal!

For around the house light jobs this very practical substitute for much heavier duty tools. Especially like the fact that unlike my Bosch not stuck with buying 150$ battery packs. At first use did the job I purchased it for with ease. Like all tools I will let you know a year from now. Did buy 2 as gave my son one. "If you can't be handsome be handy" Well he is handsome so I figure this is a tool he could at least use without hurting himself. As basic screw driver overall pretty impressed for 10$. My Bosch whose battery died recently after many years of abuse now sells for about 350$ two batteries and charger, So at 72 trying not to invest in tools that will last longer than me.So if you are a contractor this not for you, if you live in a Condo or apartment this should do the trick.
