Exceeds my expectations. The box is surprisingly sturdy and holds the canvas at whatever angle you'd like. There are wing nuts (nuts with wings that allow you to tighten them by hand) holding up the hinge and the top part of the holder which make it easy to adjust and tighten as needed. I never had it loosen when using it with my 18x24" canvas. However, the palette is pretty cheap and I will probably throw it out. I got an acrylic one instead and it works much better.

Great deal for such a practical and well-made portable easel. Lots of room for a good assortment of paints and brushes. I think it's perfect for a weekend workshop or vacation. Very reasonable price, too.
